Summer Project

My sister Jenny gave me her old dining chairs, which she got for free after she got married. As you can see, they weren't very attractive (this picture doesn't even do it's ugliness justice) so I decided that I would re-upholster and paint the five chairs, despite the fact that I have never done anything like that before. I was pretty proud of my results and I learned a lot about what I would do differently if I were going to do it again. View the transformation....

Nice chairs. What are some things you'd do differently? I have some chairs that could use some work. I'd like to learn from your mistakes :)

Your skills are amazing. Can you come re-do all my ugly furniture too????

(bet Jenny's wishin' she could have those chairs back now!)

Matt, if I was going to do it so that the chairs would really last, I would definitely sand down to the original wood. I was too lazy so I just painted over, but the paint doesn't stick as well as I would like. Also, I probably would have taken more time on teh covering process - although so far they seem to be holding up fine. How is the new house by the way?
